New 2017 Nissan Versa at Reedman-Toll Nissan for Bethesda, MD

The 4-door 2017 Nissan Versa is a smartly-priced sedan and is quite the efficient commuter as well. On the higher end of trims, power door locks and windows are available, in addition to the always-welcome keyless entry and cruise control. Let's continue on and see if the 2017 Nissan Versa is what you have been searching for, plus, it's a great standard to measure the rest against. The Versa has a significantly smooth road driving experience to it, has one of the most spacious back seats within the mid-size sedan market, has excellent fuel economy scores, and has even more room for stuff in its big trunk.

Under the Versa's Hood

A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) comes standard on all 2017 Nissan Versa trims, minus the S trim level. The Versa is capable and efficient with its 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that manufactures 109-hp and 107 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual is standard on the S trim, and an optional four-speed automatic transmission is also an avenue to consider. Every transmission supplies power to the front wheels only by design. The four-speed automatic transmission gets 29 mpg combined (26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway), per EPA estimates. With the CVT automatic, the EPA estimates fuel economy at 35 mpg combined (31 mpg city and 39 mpg highway). With the standard 5-speed manual transmission, drivers will see 30 mpg combined (27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway). Adjusting for extra passenger and cargo weight, the inherent Electronic Brake Force Distribution feature helps automatically. The Versa Sedan's advanced ABS system helps you keep steering control around obstacles while braking heavily as standard.

Design of Nissan Versa

The 5-seat Nissan Versa arrives into 2017 with four trims: the S, S Plus, SV and the SL. A rearview camera and a navigation system are obtainable on select trims. The front seats see 39.8 inches from the seat bottom to the ceiling, which is above-average for a sedan. The back seats follow suit with plenty of room for the basketball players you plan on stashing back there regularly or for that overly tall friend who usually doesn't fit in a car at all! For traveling, the Versa's ginormous trunk spreads out to 14.9 cubic feet of cargo space, and the 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks on SV and SL trims allow even more room. The S trim level shows up with a tilt-only steering wheel, Bluetooth phone connectivity, AC, 15-inch steel wheels, power mirrors, manual locks & windows, a trip computer, steering-wheel mounted audio controls, and a four-speaker audio system rocking a CD player/aux input. The S Plus trim employs cruise control and a spoiler on the trunk. On the SV trim, you will find remote keyless entry, power windows and door locks, a front map light with key-linked illuminated entry, bolder cloth upholstery and interior accents, a height-adjustable driver's seat with an armrest, a trip computer with outdoor temperature display, augmented instrumentation, and a port for a USB. The SL trim also has keyless entry then adds keyless ignition as well, 16-inch alloy wheels, integrated turn signals in its side mirrors, and a navigation system. Located on the SV trim, the new-for-2017 SV Special Edition option package places foglights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 15-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior accents, satellite radio, and Bluetooth streaming audio into the mix. It then continues with a color 5-inch display sound system, variable intermittent windshield wipers, a rearview camera, and a hands-free text messaging. The gauges and knobs are very visible and intuitive to utilize across trims, just what you want in a car of this caliber.

In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the Versa acquired the best rating of 'Good' in the side-impact, roof strength, and moderate-overlap front-impact tests. In government crash testing, the Versa got 4 stars (out of 5) for front-crash protection. The 2017 Nissan Versa has, for safety, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes (front disc, rear drum), and traction and stability control-- all as standard. Optional on the SV trim, and standard on the SL trim is a rearview camera. In Edmunds brake testing, a Versa SL mid-size sedan arrived at a stop from 60 mph in 128 feet. Also, Nissan's Brake Assist figures how fast the brakes are engaging and then can immediately add a maximized power boost for needed braking. All in all, it's quite the safe and effective sedan that many have already chosen as their commuter of choice, why not check one out today?
